Tk 8 lakh for each Gazipur boiler victim family: Chunnu

Desk Report : State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu said here today families of the deceased who were killed in a boiler explosion at a garment factory of Multifabs Ltd here will get Taka 8 lakh for each as compensation.

“Each of the boiler victim family would get Taka five lakh from the government and Taka three lakh from the factory,” he said this while visiting the factory located in Noapara area in the district.

Chunnu also said the ministry will provide Taka 2 lakh as insurance money and Taka 3 lakh as compensation for each victim family.

Besides, the factory authority will give Taka 3 lakh per family of the victims, said the state minister.

Earlier, 10 people were killed and dozens injured as a boiler of the garment factory exploded in Kashimpur Nayapara area of Gazipur on Monday evening.

Gazipur district administration formed a seven-member committee to probe into the incident.
